The past can't hunt us.

"‘Foolishness, sir. How can old wounds heal while maggots linger so richly? Or a peace hold for ever built on slaughter and a magician’s trickery? I see how devoutly you wish it, for your old horrors to crumble as dust. Yet they await in the soil as white bones for men to uncover."

Hola,

I read this last night while finishing The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro. It made me think about how complex is human history that no place is free from horror. Is faith for a better future what keeps us dreaming? Are we all to blame for our past? Finally, how can we reconcile with our past to give space for better experiences? Our past will always be there to hunt us, and it is on us to let it control our present actions.

Find here a list of things I found worth sharing from last week:

  1. Watch. The best video I have watched from Tiny Desk. I really recommend taking a look at this piece of art by C. Tangana. Precise direction, production design and art direction. Also, the first song has been in my mind the whole week... Me ma, me ma-, me maten!
  2. Explore. This Natives map, and learn more about each of them in this interactive web project!
  3. See. red colour everywhere you point your sight. Katy Doughty wrote this amazing piece on the colour red. "From Roman slaves to redshift: Everything you ever needed to know about the color red"!
  4. Aww♥️. These really excited dogs waiting to play with the smallest branch ever! Just look at how excited the labrador is!😍

Thanks for reading and have a nice week!
