The flowers were trying harder.

"I have found something that is going to help me, for a long long time to come. The park grass looked greener, the park benches looked better and the flowers were trying harder."

Hola,

I noticed that it is no longer part of the agenda of my media outlets to talk about mental health. Is it just a seasonal topic and that topic is banned during the summer months? Is it due to Covid-19 vaccination plans maturing in Western Europe and North America and therefore mainstream media no longer talk about this? What I know for sure is that people are still suffering. I wish you could all make time to check on your friends and to offer support and company to your loved ones and your community. If we need to learn something from this terrible situation is that together we are stronger. More love and compassion.

Find here a list of things I found worth sharing from last week:

  1. Read. This piece about WhatsApp content moderators and take a sneak peek of the dark side of this messaging app.
  2. Distrust. The U.S. government every time they launch a foreign relations campaign for the sake of freedom and Human Rights. Remember the day they were trying to bully China in the Alaska talks early this year? Well, look yourself in a mirror before you judge others. You are both responsible for atrocities in your own countries.
  3. Eat. Cachapas wherever you can find them. You won't regret it. In colombia we call them "arepa de chócolo". Deli!
  4. Learn. How TikTok's algorithm works and why it is more accurate than the rest.
  5. Explore. Kpop in this great project by the Washington Post: Why is Kpop so popular?. "Of the 10 music videos with the most views in their first 24 hours, nine are songs by the K-pop groups Blackpink and BTS, as of July 13. The only non-K-pop song is Taylor Swift’s “ME!” at No. 8.".
  6. Aww♥️. This squirrel enjoying a serenade 😍

Thanks for reading and have a nice week!
