Hola,
This quote makes me think about how important it is to look for the essence of your decisions. To remember what motived you to be where you are right now. When this is lost, it is easy to feel frustrated when bad events happen. When we evaluate our situations without context, the outcomes may be simple; good or bad. However, when it is seen within a bigger scope, a bad success can be seen as another challenge that can be accomplished or forgotten.
I remember how during a depressive episode, my head was overwhelmed and I found it impossible to conceive my situation as something that could be overcome. Everyone I reached out to reminded me about this motivation, but it took me plenty of time, and tears to move on. I wished I could have told myself to focus on the essence, to make time to explore this motivation and that this bad moment is not forever.
Please, talk to your friends and loved ones, make time for yourself and try not to make bad situations bigger than they are. Remember that life is nothing more than constant change.
Find here a list of things I found worth sharing from last week:
- Read. This report from HRW about digital sex crimes in South Korea "Her boss—after she moved the clock—commented that if she did not want it, he would take it back. “I found it strange, so I googled the clock and found it was a special kind,” Lee Ye-rin said. The clock was a spycam. It had been streaming footage of the inside of Lee Ye-rin’s bedroom to her boss’s cell phone 24 hours a day for the previous month or month and a half.".
- Enjoy. a brutally honest History of Latinos in Hollywood.
- Listen. To Brian Eno's radio station while you are working.
