Hola,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and let's welcome a new week! I finished Man's Search For Meaningby the beginning of the week and started reading Angela McRobbie's latest book Feminism And The Politics Of Resilience.
I spent several hours the last weeks discussing Man's Search For Meaning with my dad. He wrote a book about neuropsychopharmacology, and was curious to know more about Logotherapy. Even though his field was the relationship between the brain and drugs (he is retired now), his interest in pharmaco-free approaches, triggers his curiosity. I guess it is due to the fact, that pharmacological treatment need to be used only as a side support for therapy, and when your doctor considers it necessary.
In my experience, keeping up with therapy and working on the tasks suggested by my doctor, surrounding myself with people who love me, and especially, the help of time, was enough to deal with my events of situational distress. Today, I am aware of what triggers my episodes. Even though I fear being there again, I work week by week to be brave enough to face it. Viktor E. Frankl's book gives tools that might work for specific cases. I suggest you try it and see if you can also find treasures in this book.
Find here a list of things I found worth sharing from last week:
- Read. This hilarious article about an overnight millionaire. It is fun to read how much he contradicts himself. By the way, I won 7.5 euros on the Lottothis week! Unfortunately, this is the equivalent of only 3 single tickets. I'm waiting for the New York Magazine to ask me for a short piece about my experience 😎.
- Bounce. R. Kelly is bouncing to NYC to face a new trial in a separate case on sex trafficking. Ignition was one of my favourite songs, but now I can't stop thinking of what a terrible person he turned out to be when I listen to this song. Now you are the one bouncing from trial to trial. Criminal.
- Appall. with this time-lapse from over the last 40 decades showing the effect of climate change.
- Watch. Vanessa Carlton in a documentary about her most famous song "A Thousand Miles".
- Aww♥️. Let's all have a great week! (Thank you Annika!)
Thanks for reading and have a nice week!
